We offer Paid Internship Program (PIP) to increase the vocational skills and abilities of individuals who choose to participate, via the Person-centered
Individual Program Plan process. The internship takes place in a community-integrated business setting, and acquisition of experience and skills leads to Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE).
Oasis engages participate in specific activities of their choice such as job club, job development, service learning (volunteering), career exploration, assessment of career goals, field trips to workplaces, employment lecture series (successful Participants discussing their employment, etc.) and targeted hard and soft skill development.
All EXCEL activities take place in the community. Whenever possible activities will be integrated in natural environments to provide Participants with experiences with non-disabled individuals. Functional skills are taught and learned in the context of typically developing adult activities.
EXCEL Assists Participants in choosing a community-based volunteer or internship position with the goal of gaining skills that lead to competitive paid employment in natural environments. We Offer customized support, services, and activities to assist participants in maximizing potential in the workplace. We partner with local companies, Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs) and businesses to ensure that our participant receives the best workplace environment. Support staff in providing Excellent service.
The roadmap to employment that is structured, integrated, and culturally sound. The plan is developed during the first 30 days of service. A team works on the plan: Assigned Job Coach, Job Developer and the Participant meet weekly and prior to completion of the plan the Work Committee (Executive director, Behavior Consultant, Job Developer, Job Coach and the Participant & any Circle of Support members the Participant invites) reviews the plan and finalizes it.
